Help for Lyla

Help for Lyla.

Presentation of Cheque for Lyla.

I recently received an appeal for assistance from the Royal Children’s Hospital on behalf of Lyla and her family. Lyla is 9 months old and lives with Cata – her mother and primary carer, Kris her father and older brother Blair. She has been diagnosed with dystonic quadriplegic spastic cerebral palsy which means she needs a special chair called a Bingo Seating System that provides the head and trunk support she needs to sit to be fed and play.. Currently her family has to feed her sitting on their laps to provide this support. Contact ws made with the Lodges in the Western District for assistance which had immediate results. Over $5000 was raised within days. In addition a Freemason who is also a member of the International Order of Old Bastards sought the assistance of that fund raising organisation to the appeal. This resulted in representatives of both organisations meeting Lyla and her family to present a cheque for $7034 to purchase the chair. Lyla is a beautiful child – always smiling and happy, and she genuinely seemed to enjoy our cpmpany and the attention.
