District To Host Charity Challenge

Western Masonic District will host a Charity Challenge at the Northern Masonic Centre, Station Road, Oak Park on Friday 24th September commencing at 7.00pm.

Lodges have been invited to make a presentation on behalf of their selected charity to members of the Grand Lodge Board of Benevolence. It is expected that six or more Lodges will make their presentations after which the members of the Board will adjudicate the best three presentations. The Board will have available the sum of $6,000 which is usually divided into three prizes of $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000, although the adjudicators have the power to alter this if they deem fit. However, there are no losers on the night as those presentations that were not successful in winning one of the major prizes are encouraged to submit an application to the Board for funds based on a dollar-for-dollar basis.

The evening will begin with a two-course dinner at a cost of $20 per head including drinks. The presentations will be made between courses and the whole evening is on a casual and social footing, with everyone enjoying a convivial atmosphere.

Lodges have until September 1st to submit their intention to make a presentation and book tables for the evening.
