Western District 117 achieved it’s best ever total for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal this year. In 2012 Western District Volunteers collected almost $20,000 – at that time a record amount. District Coordinator, David Seymour, joked at the time that it would be great to achieve $25,000 in 2013. The challenge was out, and the volunteers set about raising $25,000 – a huge task. Volunteer coordinator, Steve Foss, managed to get 102 volunteers to collect at 35 7/11 sites throughout the District. When the dust had settled, and the final coins counted, the total for 2013 exceeded $26,300 !! A most magnificent effort and one that everyone who contributed to the appeal can be truly proud of. Sincere thanks and congratulations go to Steve Foss and his band of volunteers for their time and effort to achieve this grand amount. Of course this raises the obvious question – “What can we do in 2014?” Have a rest guys – that’s a long way off!
